Unboxing: FairyLoot March 2018

Hey guys! The theme for March’s FairyLoot Box is Memorable Moments in honor of FairyLoot’s 2nd anniversary! FairyLoot is an amazing YA bookish subscription box that I would highly recommend getting.

One of the things they told about this box is that it would be purple, instead of black, like they did on their first anniversary, as well as a scarf! It’s my first bookish scarf and I’m super excited to see it!! Also, every item in this box is inspired by some memorable moment in a book! Isn’t that super cool?!

If you wanna check out what this box included, just keep reading! I will show photos of the items, information on them and some of my thoughts!

So this is all the box included. Now for each item…

This month’s book is State of Sorrow by Melinda Salisbury. This is the first book I get from the author, although I’ve been eyeing The Sin Eater’s Daughter for quite a long time. It’s also an exclusive hardback edition, of which apparently the standard edition is in paperback.

Here’s the synopsis:

Sorrow – for that is all she brings us.

A people laid low by grief and darkness.
A cut-throat race for power and victory.
A girl with everything and nothing to lose…

By day, Sorrow governs the Court of Tears, covering for her grief-maddened father, who has turned their once celebrated land into a living monument for the brother who died before she was born.
By night, she seeks solace in the arms of the boy she’s loved since childhood. But one ghost won’t stop haunting her, and when enemies old and new close ranks against her, Sorrow must decide how far she’s willing to go to win…
Be swept away by the dark and dangerous new world from Melinda Salisbury, bestselling author of The Sin Eater’s Daughter trilogy

As for the other items…

With the book, we got a super cute letter from the author and a signed bookplate, plus a postcard with the cover of the book, which in my opinion is stunning! Look at all the details of the cover, in the photo below!

We got a super pretty and exclusive Goblet of Fire candle by Paper Flames Candle Co. It’s incredibly pretty, white with some blue in it (which you can see in the photo below). It’s my first candle from this brand and it smells divine!! The smell is described to be fresh bread and chocolate. And it’s the yummiest thing ever!

We got a Toast To The Warden of The North Hot Chocolate made by Eponine. This is a vegan, gluten free, nut free, dairy free and sustainably sourced drinking hot chocolate, using a unique blend of cocoas sourced from Madagascar and Venezuela. I haven’t tried it yet but it seems to be a bit of a Spanish style hot chocolate, as in a bit thicker. It brings enough for two portions and it has directions on how to use it. It’s inspired by Jon Snow from Game of Thrones. The artwork is designed by Till and Dill and it looks amazing!!

Another super interesting item was an exclusive Bilbo’s Birthday Cake Vegan Soap by Geeky CleanI’ve loved other items in the past from Geeky Clean so I’m super excited about this soap! It smells super good, specifically of vanilla and strawberry cake and it contains some small pink glitter in it (in the photo above, the pink dots you see in the soap is glitter!). It’s another item I’ve never received before and I’m tempted to save it near my clothes, at least for awhile, to give them this super yummy smell! This was inspired by The Hobbit and the design in it is beautiful!! I absolutely love it.

The other two items in the photo are bonus items. We got a bookmark and a pin promoting The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton, which I already own and intend on reading either this month or next month. It sounds pretty cool! Have you read it? If so, what did you think of it?

We also got a Cork Bunting by Peladone! Which is definitely an extremely unique and interesting thing to get in a book subscription box. It’s perfect to hang on your bookshelves (or anywhere you want really) which is where I intend to put mine, or at least near them, like in between or where I have my tv. You can pin notes, photos or artworks to display all your memorable moments, or like me, you can put your fav quotes, which I think would look amazing – and they are also quite memorable, so it’s perfect, right? According to FairyLoot, you can even paint the cork if you want, which is quite a cool idea!

And last but not least, one of my fav things in this box, an exclusive Rune Ceremony Scarf by FictionTea Designs inspired especially by the rune ceremonies in The Mortal Instruments (and other books from the Shadowhunter books) by Cassandra Clare. There are many different runes on this scarf and each one grants a different supernatural ability. We have runes for “angelic power, speed, soundless, clairvoyance, fearless, deflection, iratze and talent”. It’s beautiful and super comfortable! I absolutely love it!!

Here’s another overview of the box’s contents: *minus the scarf that you can see in the upper photo.

This box was once again amazing, I absolutely loved everything in it. It was overall quite yummy, with many amazing smells and, of course, tastes, we can’t forget the amazing hot chocolate! I loved the theme, and everything in it, especially the scarf! This box was amazing and they keep surprising me every time, so I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one!

The next month’s theme will be…

Whimsical Journeys

I’m super excited about this one! It sounds really good! They say it will contain a tote bag, which will be my first bookish tote bag! >.< I can’t wait!!! Plus, it will also contain two items never seen on previous boxes!

For more information on that box, you can check it out here. When they are sold out, you can still get some at the beginning of each month tho (normally day 3). If you missed them, don’t worry! Each box is amazing and I’m sure you will be as happy with the next one as you would with this one! Also, make sure you check out their Instagram, they always post there the new themes!

You can already check out May’s theme here! And for that one, you can subscribe or buy a single box starting around day 9 of each month! Sign up for the waiting list here!

Hope you guys enjoyed this unboxing! They are always super fun to make because I love editing and taking photos, which I hope you enjoy; and I love showing what’s inside these amazing boxes!
