-Yeah yeah I know it’s tomorrow but I am celebrating today since tomorrow is Monday …-

And it’s time for a October Wrap-up! I can’t believe it’s already the end of October…It’s passing so fast >.< But I can’t really complain because… next stop… CHRISTMAS!! ❤ Ah I love this time of the year with the exception of the cold… 😛

This month I read 10 books with one being a manga book and two of them being kind of a re-read. I say kind of because the first time I read those books they were in a different language! I also started one more but I couldn’t end it by the end of the month so it will move to November!

For October I read mainly some halloween-y type of books! I read 3 books by Neil Gaiman and I really liked them but I was expecting to like them more… Maybe it’s because they are middle grade books and it’s difficult for me to enter in that spirit 😛 Anyway from all the 3 I can say that I LOVED LOVED LOVED The Graveyard Book! It was beautiful and super creative! And that was also the one I had the higher hopes on!

I read one classic – Sense and Sensibility and I couldn’t have loved it more! I never expected enjoying it this much but now I am much more excited to read some more classics!

A Wizard’s Forge was a book I requested to read in my computer and it’s difficult to read it there because I hate the light but I was so hooked! I loved it so much! Much probably will be a favorite of this year! Next time I hope I will be able to read them in a kindle – so much easier 😛

And to end this months book I started re-reading the first books of Twilight, I remember really liking them but I never read the rest of them. So I thought Halloween was the perfect time!

This month is difficult to choose a favorite… I really loved The Graveyard Book, Sense and Sensibility and A Wizard’s Forge. But the one that made me more surprised was definitely A Wizard’s Forge!

For my November TBR, I already made a list of the books that I want to read because I think it’s the perfect month for some of them. I usually read a bit more “heavy” books in November, don’t really know why but I just enjoy them more…

I will pick up:

I started Breaking Dawn in October and I will end it this month and conclude the Twilight Saga!

This month I will also read two e-books that I got from NetGalley – The Story Traveler and maybe All that Remains and I think I will finally read the Millennium trilogy! I already saw the movie for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo but I never read the book so I will read them all this month since I thought the movie was super “heavy” and the books probably too. And hopefully I will see the rest of the movies!

If I can still read Life and Death from Twilight this month I will but I won’t put i in my TBR for now because I don’t think I can since the Millennium Trilogy is quite big.

Both of Coraline’s parents work at home, and sometimes she feels a bit ignored and bored. In those times she is encouraged to explore and so she does. First her neighbors. The Misses Spink and Forcible are two retired actresses who live together in the bottom flat, and up above is Mr. Bobo, who is an avid circus trainer of mice.

When her father tells her to count every door and window and everything blue, she does and finds out a door that it’s locked. That only leads to a brick wall. Well, most of the time it does. On some occasions, it opens up on a world just like this one, where Coraline finds her other mother, other father, and even other neighbors.

At first it seems quite nice, people pay more attention to her there, the toys are better, and, of all things, the cat talks. Soon Coraline finds all is not quite as it seems. Everyone has buttons for eyes, her other mother has strange hands that seem to have a life of their own, and there are a remarkable number of rats. Coraline has to face her fears if she wants to make things right.

Wow. That was a creepy book. I am glad I didn’t read this when I was a kid. Although I would have loved it anyway, I am pretty sure I would have nightmares…

Coraline was a pretty interesting book with a lovely moral! I loved how Neil Gaiman approached the subject; how straightforward and simplistic it was and mainly all Neil Gaiman’s books are. I really like his writing, it’s captivating, simple but interesting and in this case creepy.

I really liked Coraline as the main character: she was down to earth, simple but different, “independent” and also brave even when she was scared! Of course, it’s easy to show to a kid all they ever wanted and have a yes as an answer but Coraline saw the truth behind it – well with a bit of help but she did – and gave her everything to make it good.

I am also a BIG fan of Chris Riddell’s draws. I think they are fantastic!! Always slightly/totally creepy but amazing! And in this book, they really complemented it so well! I loved this edition!

I thought I saw this movie a long time ago but apparently, I didn’t and I am very happy about that! I never thought it would be like this. I loved the animation but I don’t think it’s a movie I would see again (maybe), or at least in many years. Don’t get me wrong, it was pretty cool, – cool and scary at the same time – and I actually liked it but there’s something that messes up with me when a movie I think it’s for kids turns this creepy…. SO glad I saw it but not again.

Best Halloween Movies

Hi book lovers!!!

Halloween is almost here!! YEEY

And like always I gather some movies to see in that week! ❤

I am not a very big fan of Horror movies so I will do a mix of 15 movies – some scary and some just pure nice halloween related.

I love movies with supernatural elements like magic, vampires, witches and so on so I decided to share them and see if you guys could give me some ideas of movies that I haven’t thought about!

I will also mention some series that I usually see around this time of the year until Christmas and some others that I am seeing this year or that I feel that it would be nice to.

All the titles will be linked to IMDB.

Hope you guys like the ideas!

In no particular order let’s get to this:

1. Hocus Pocus

This is one of my ultimate favorite movies! It’s so much fun and with all the halloween aspect a person can ask for! It’s passed in 1693 in Salem where there is some weird looking witches – The Sanderson sisters – that want to absorb every kid’s youth for them to live forever! I love old times feeling of movies so it’s right out my alley! Obviously I see it every halloween!! ❤

2. Halloweentown

This is a trilogy but in my opinion the first one is the best. It’s a super fun teenage type of movie. It started with a teenage named Marnie arguing with her mother on why can’t she and her siblings go out on halloween, when their grandmother comes for her annual halloween visit. She is an experienced witch and wants to tell them all about halloween and the parallel world where she lives called Halloween Town. It’s the perfect cute halloween type of movie!

3. The Addams Family

A classic! I love it!! Addams family is just creepy awesomeness! I used to see the cartoon when I was little and I think it was because of that that I turned in such a fan of halloween in general! I love how macabre and bizarre it is!

4. Beetlejuice

This one I am ashamed to say I haven’t seen but I bet it’s just as good as Sweeney Todd or Edward Scissorhands! So I decided to include it here and I will totally see it this halloween!! YEY Although this movie is a comedy fantasy and it talks about ghosts that are hunting their former home!

5. The Nightmare Before Christmas

I love this movie and I usually see it every year! The best part other than the characters design is for sure the music! ‘This is halloween’ it’s just freaking awesome!! I kinda sing it all over the year but I would say it makes more sense now haha…

6. Corpse Bride

I think you can slightly notice a pattern here… I love everything Tim Burton! And this one is also a super nice halloweenie one! It’s so cute and once again the characters are so cool!!

7. Frankenweenie

This one has a slightly darker side than Corpse Bride and it’s a awesome movie!! Full of emotions and in ‘black and white’ 😛 It’s about a boy that loves since and when his dog dies he tries to getting back to life! But soon is idea turn into chaos for the all city!

8. Sleepy Hollow

Another Tim Burton’s movie… I really like this one because it’s passed in 1799 and I love old type of movies! This one has everything, it’s slightly creepy but not scary, it has that weird feeling of a small town and all the conspiracies and also witchcraft! Plus I love Christina Ricci!

9. Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles

It’s about a vampire that talks about his early life to the interviewer and we are transported to 1791 where everything started. I really like this movie! It’s a bit creepy sometimes but not that much in my opinion, just the right amount! But it’s an awesome movie! And of course I love vampires so….

Here starts the slightly more scary ones…

10. Poltergeist

This movie is set in a California suburb, the plot focuses on a family whose home is invaded by malevolent ghosts that abduct the family’s younger daughter. This was not that scary okay… It was pretty cool actually but it defiantly has a bit of a creep to it… definitely not as scary as for example The Sinister in using children but much better movie! Of course it has more impact with kids in the plot but this one didn’t change so much the fact of using them or not, it didn’t bother me so much.

11. The Exorcist

This was a nice one but pretty disgusting if you ask me… Gave me the creeps! But it has a nice feeling to it, old type. Basically all the movie is around a 12 years old girl that is possessed and her mother tries to do everything to have her back, including exorcism.

12. The Omen

I saw this movie long ago and I didn’t know the name. This year I found it again and saw it. I really liked the first movie. It’s just slightly creepy and it has once again that old feeling to it! The film talks about a young child adopted at birth by American Ambassador Robert Thorn without her wife knowing, after their own son is stolen at birth. They are surrounded by mysterious and ominous deaths, unaware that the child is the Antichrist.

13. Annabelle

I actually really liked this one! It’s super scary in my opinion but I have seen it so much anyway! But I remember the first time I saw it I didn’t sleep that great HAHA “In 1970, John and Mia live in Santa Monica and they are expecting their first child. John gives her a doll that she has been trying to find. At night, Mia hears a murder occurring at their neighbors – the Higgins – house . When Mia calls the police, she is attacked by a woman holding the doll and a male accomplice. John and the police arrive and kill the man while the woman kills herself by slitting her own throat. A drop of her blood falls on the face of the doll in her arms. A news report shows that the assailants were Annabelle Higgins and her boyfriend.” And there it starts.

14. The Conjuring

Other one that surprisingly I really liked. It’s for sure scary but it’s a great movie! gathered a lot of pillows and still it kinda freaked me out… But I am a chicken so… A family with 5 children move to a new farmhouse. Paranormal events occur within the first few nights: all of the clocks stop at exactly 3:07 AM and so on. Until they see that the only option is to call demonologists – Ed and Lorraine Warren – who agree to take on the case.

15. The Visit

This movie was so freaking messed up! And it really scared me in some moments!! It was the weirdest thing ever! Two kids that never met their grandparents do to their mothers divorce her invited to spend some time at their house. They know that their mother hasn’t talked to them in 15 years so they want to film a documentary to later show her. Their grandparents give them some rules and one of them is to never leave the room after 9.30pm. But everything goes wrong when they do.

For some halloween appropriate series I have:

1. Charmed

One of my ultimate favorite series! It’s about a trio of sisters that learn that they are witches and have to combine their powers – The Power of Three – to protect innocent lives from evil beings such as demons and warlocks.

2. Sabrina the Teenage Witch

I have seen this series countless times! It’s about a teenage girl named Sabrina Spellman, who, on her sixteenth birthday, discovers she has magical powers. She lives with her 600-year-old aunts, witches Hilda and Zelda, and a talking cat Salem. The series shows her life as a witch in the normal world.

3. Supernatural

I saw this so long ago! And I really should re-watch it! The series follows the two brothers – Sam and Dean – as they hunt demons, ghosts, monsters, and other supernatural beings in the world!

4. Ghost Whisperer

I love Ghost Whisperer and I love Melinda Gordon and her style. This show talked about Melinda who has a gift. She can talk to the dead and she has to help them end their unfinished business and walk them into the light. It’s a sure fun show with a darker side!

5. Sleepy Hollow

This is the only one I haven’t seen from my list but it’s very well ranked and seems pretty interesting. I would definitely try it out!

6. American Horror Story

I actually really enjoyed seeing this series. It’s the weirdest thing ever but it’s pretty cool! I only saw 4 seasons but I really enjoyed it. They sure are odd and sometimes I was so hooked seeing it that I couldn’t so anything more! It’s super addicting. I really liked season 2 and 3.

Also the new series Stranger Things in Netflix is pretty cool !!

This book is the exact same of the movie. It talks about Jack Skellington – the pumpkin king – of Halloween Town. He is bored with doing the same thing every year for Halloween. One day he stumbles into Christmas Town, and he loved it and decides to do one himself. He tries to get the resident of Halloween town to help him put on Christmas instead of Halloween but naturally they can’t understand it and they get it quite right.

I really like this book because the movie is one of my favorites! And I really enjoyed reading it but I still prefer the movie!

The book turns the story way to short and simple and it loses a bit of the magic that you can feel in the movie. And where is the beginning? It started just with Jack being already bored of what he did this halloween but what did he do, where’s the world, the halloween part?

There were a few moments of the book where the lyrics for iconic songs were included to attempt to get some of that energy and power to the book, but it fell so flat and confusing in the same font.

Also I love Sally and in this book because it misses so much we hardly see her happy to see Jack! I mean we all know she is in love with him but we only see her sad in this manga, not the usual strength she has and her being one of my favorite characters was a bit of a let down.

To conclude I really liked the artwork so that’s a plus! It had a lot of detail and it kinda makes that halloween feeling! Also I continue to love the story and I would totally get it just because of that and the fact I love manga, but I wish it would have been bigger and more magical!

Nobody Owens, known to his friends as Bod, is a normal boy. He would be completely normal if he didn’t live in a graveyard, being raised and educated by ghosts.

There are dangers and adventures for Bod in the graveyard. But it is in the land of the living that real danger lurks for it is there that the man Jack lives and he has already killed Bod’s family.

The Graveyard Book is a story about a baby, whose family is killed,and he is raised in a graveyard by ghosts. He is named “Nobody Owens”, or Bod for short.

He now has people that care about him and protect him, so he is told never to leave the graveyard because it’s not safe for him in the world of the living as there is someone who is still looking for him.

Even tho his life is passed in the graveyard he still has to do what the living do and more. He is tutored by ghosts about both worlds, he has a guardian – Silas (and Miss Lupescu) that brings him food and passes time helping him. He also has many friends in the graveyard, including a witch named Liz; and one outside the graveyard named Scarlett who is about his age.

In order for him to have a normal life as a living person, Bod has to face his fears until he becomes a young man, by facing the person that killed his family.

This book was amazing!! I loved it from the very beginning and I couldn’t be more happy to finally have read it! I loved how the story is told; how it has some dark moments but it can still be a light read; I loved how it was adventurous and mysterious! I loved the morals in it! And I am now an absolute fan of Neil Gaiman’s writing style!

The thing that caused me the most impact in this book were the ghosts and the witches. I mean, normally we know them as being scary and purely evil but in this book they are the best persons ever! My favorite character was without a doubt Liz, she didn’t appear much but I didn’t love a witch in a long time and this one is marvelous! I also really liked Silas, he was such a great person! Although he was just is guardian, he was more like a father to him!

Another thing I want to point out is how cool was the story of his name! I will never forget “Nobody Owens”! Ahh… Neil Gaiman has the best ideas ever!!

And to conclude, I loved Jack’s story, although it’s not that big it was great! And it totally fooled me! Although the end was quit obvious the way of telling the story made it amazing and surprising!

It was a beautiful and captivating story that I would recommend to absolutely everybody!

The book starts with Vic (Victoria) in her hometown – Ourtown – studying to be a Logkeeper. As a logkeeper she preserved and studied the Ancients’ writings, and made sure people remembered where they came from, so she had to travel to their villages to teach them.

On her first assignment – to Cairo -, the village got attacked by pirates – Caleisbahn people – and she got kidnapped to be a slave in Traine. When she got inspected, they saw her as feet to be a mistress for Remlord Lornk Korng.

After enduring months of psychological torture, forms of sexual abuse, and being forced to take the new name of “Kara”, she started hating and losing herself. When she saw an opportunity to escape she succeeded and ended up in Latha. After realizing the horror that Vic has been through the Royal Family of Latha has taken it upon themselves to care for and protect her. There she makes new friends and finds a new home but it’s not all rainbows.

Vic will discover herself as a warrior – the Blade – and later as a wizard. She will use everything she has to take revenge on Lornk!

I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH! When I read the synopsis I immediately felt interest and I was extremely happy to receive a free copy from NetGalley for me to review but I had no idea how much I was going to love it until I started and I just couldn’t stop reading it! It’s very difficult for me to read in my computer – and for that reason I am getting a Kindle – but I read it incredibly fast even tho my eyes were killing me!

“Don’t cry, darling. Your life will be an easy one.”

This is (probably) the first time I’ve ever read a book that deals with any kind of sexual abuse. I don’t think it’s an easy subject to board but this book really showed it well. How the main character deals with it seemed so realistic! All her journey trying to release herself from him, trying to understand who she really was and all the rough moments she passed made this book amazing!

– And it’s that amazing because all that Vic passes is real. It happens in our world. And although Vic may seem a weak person for some for not being able to compose herself, that doesn’t happen with a wink!

They said that she was going to have a easy life because she was not going to work as a slave but what she went through was in no way easier. It takes a long time and a lot of help and strength to get over that type of psychological torture (and sometimes people are still not able to do it). I loved how the writer shows that so well throughout the book!

The writing is fantastic and incredibly captivating! It’s the first book I read from A.M. Justice. Sometimes when I read a new author’s book I get a bit of a rough time to adjust in the first 50 pages or so. That didn’t happen with this book. I instantly got amazed by the writing and I just wanted to keep reading!

The book is filled with imagination and intrigue. It has amazing characters and some of them really surprised me while others remain a mystery!

Victoria is wonderfully written and well developed. She starts off the story as a sixteen-year-old girl but we see her growing over time and turning into a strong young women. I loved how her powers and her weaknesses were balanced. She is a wizard, a warrior and a extremely intelligent person but she needs her friends if she wants to find real strength against Lornk.
Prince Ashel is very unique and an amazing person. He has no interest in running a kingdom and his path was drawn as a musician- in Latha they use music to tell their history – and is one of the greatest ones. The same concept of what Vic did but in a different way of doing it.
Lornk Korng is a villain. He is a horrible person that takes pleasure by hurting others, even the ones he is suppose to care for. He tries to break people – he is very clever with words and emotions – and molded them as he pleases.

The story presents us with a lot more interesting characters but these ones are the most important.

The book is set three thousand years ago, when a crew of mineral miners set out on a mission from Earth to the planet of Gomorrah but due to sabotage were not able to make it to their destination. With the mission a failure Captain Wong of the shuttle Elesendar was forced to stop in the orbit of what is now referred to – Knownearth.

The crew came down to the planet to search for metals so that they might be able to repair the ship. I suppose that they were unable to make it and settled on the planet, which is filled with amazing cities with different cultures and costumes and I thought although it’s pretty similar to Earth it was beyond amazing!

I couldn’t recommend this book more! I loved it to pieces! I haven’t read a book that made me this anxious and thrilled in a long time!

I can’t wait for the second one – A Wizard’s Sacrifice!!

This book talks about a girl named Tegan Lockwood that lives in Lymington – I’m amazed to see that when I checked it to do my review I actually had the feeling that I already know this town just by the descriptions in the book and it looks so beautiful and peaceful! – with her family that runs a business, Lockwood Holiday.

She is a very closed person that finds refugee in making music, writing what is in her heart based on all the letters she has from her ancestors tragic love story. She never let anyone see her lyrics, not even her only friend – Simon. But that is about to end when Mason Keane, a pop star from America appears in her life. She sees herself actually falling for him and sharing more than she ever could with anyone. But not everything is that easy. Their path has just began and not everyone is has nice as Tegan.

I love this book’s feeling! It mixes old and modern elements and it’s just the perfect combination!

He made the connection between an old-school romance through letters that made Tegan be who she is and that’s what I love the most. The book is passed in the modern days but the romance going on is an old-school type of romance which made it a lot special to me! Because normally a new adult book tends to be more modern if you know what I mean.

When I first started this book I wasn’t sure where this was going. I knew it was a romance but there where many parts in the book that actually surprised me because I couldn’t figure out what was going to happen. Even tho it has cliché moments it also has surprising ones!

This was such a sweet story! It contained letters, lyrics and amazing characters!

I loved Tegan! She is such a talented girl, a bit naive sure but I really liked her as a person, although she is a teenager with some teenage issues, I actually managed to relate a tiny bit with her! And Mason… ah he is a bit troubled but he as a good heart! I really liked him, especially with Tegan. Simon seemed like a very great guy but I have to say that I am dying to know a bit more about Simon…

But one of the things I totally loved was Tegan’s family. They have such a wonderful relation! And such a big family! Ah I would love to enter in this book and meet them! I was a really big fan of them! Especially the parents!

To conclude I thought that this book’s title was really good! I loved the meaning and how it was brought up!

I don’t really read many new adult books but I was glad that I read this one! It was wonderful and I am really happy that I had the pleasure to read this book thanks to the author! I can say that I never read a book in my computer so this was my first – and I have to say that my eye almost died and that way it took me longer than it should have to read it – and I would love to see this book published because I would totally buy it – yes I am that big of a fan of paper! – and read it again!

Also there is a lot of lyrics in the book that makes it so much more by playing them! So…

MUAHAHAHA!! Sorry… Oh! Hi guys!!!

It’s Halloween month!! Anyone here that loves halloween other than me? ❤

I love this time of the year! I love the blankets, the candles, the warm sweaters, and to snuggle with books with a cup of hot tea or chocolate ❤

So I decided to read some books related to this time, some spooky cute stories or some supernatural ones, like I mentioned in my last TBR.

I will now share 12 books that I would love to read in this time of the year! I am not a very big fan of horror so I will go with stuff I feel I always loved to read in this month, like vampires, witches, strange things, supernatural things…

In the end I will mention 5 books that have very good reviews on it that I would totally read if I wasn’t a chicken.

1. The Graveyard Book by Nail Gaiman

I am so excited to read this book!! I heard great things about it and finally I have it!! And I love the cover of this book. It’s illustrated by Chris Riddell that wrote the Goth Girl series and if you haven’t seen it’s illustrations yet they are amazing!!

2. Coraline by Nail Gaiman

Also I will finally pick this one up!! And of course see the movie! I think I saw it already but it was long ago and I can’t really remember, which is awesome if I am going to read the book 😛

3. Twilight by Stephanie Meyer

Well this one I know it’s not for everybody but I personally love it! And I really wanna read the reimagined version and compare!

4. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

I already read this books and it was spring but I think this would be a good read for now! It’s not spooky but it’s just… peculiar… and I loved the story and the odd photographies! And if you haven’t read it yet what better time than now that the movie is coming out?!

5. Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins

I personally love books that talk about witches… And this one is for sure one that I will read! It seems super interesting and totally right out of my alley!!

6. Vampire Academy by Rachel Meed

Once again we have vampires and this series is pretty good! I love anything vampire but this one I would for sure recommend! I read this way too long ago and I never ended the series but I intend to buy the box set probably still this year!

7. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

I heard so great things about this book! I love the synopsis and a lot of people say that it actually has some creepiness to it and I can’t wait to buy this trilogy!!

8. Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake

This is not a very creepy book at all but because it has ghosts I thought why not? It’s such a different book! If you haven’t read this one check out the synopsis in the image, it’s awesome!!

9. This is Not a Test by Courtney Summers

I am not a big fan of anything zombie but this book really intrigued me and will be probably the only book I will read ever about zombies! Zombies creep me out way too much!

10. The Coldest Girl in Cold Town by Holly Black

And last but not least The Coldest Girl in Cold Town that I have been wanting to read for far too much time! I just think it has the perfect atmosphere for this time of the year!!

And for some Classics we have:

11. Dracula by Bram Stoker

This is a classic that has been in my TBR from some time now and I haven’t bought it yet because I always want to buy it for halloween and that just never happens! But for sure I will read it and hopefully love it!

12. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley

This is another one with the same problem that I so much want to read and much probably I will have to just buy it in a random time and save it a bit for halloween (or not because I really wanna read it super badly :p)

And I will just mention one more that I loved to read as a kid: The Witches by Roald Dahl.

I will now mention 5 books I would totally read in October – that are already considered as horror – but that I don’t think I am up to it yet. Also the link for goodreads is in the names!

1. The Shining by Stephen King

I admit I always kinda wanted to read Stephen King because I heard great things about his books but I don’t feel brave enough yet if it actually is horror… What do you guys think??

2. Frozen Charlotte by Alex Bell

This one is in my ‘maybe pile’ and it actually seems awesome but way too creepy for me right now. But for sure one day!

3. Wait Till Helen Comes by Mary Downing Hahn

Also in my ‘maybe pile’ and this one is a creepy children’s book! It actually seems interesting but for now I don’t intend to buy it… Although the synopsis looks actually very nice!

4. Ashwood by C.J. Malarsky

This book has a freaky cover!! It’s totally new and it seems awesomely creepy! I would love to read this one one day!! Totally check the synopsis! It seems so different!

5. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa

This one is a graphic novel! Okay… this I don’t think I will ever buy. I love Sabrina the Teenage Witch too much to change my opinion reading a horror type of it. Unless someone really tells me I should read it. Should I?

The monster in his back garden, though, this monster is something different. Something ancient, something wild.

First of all I will start by saying that this book is marked as horror and as middle grade in Goodreads and in my opinion that is a bit wrong. It’s not a horror story like you are going to be scared… What happens is the type of realistic horror, the horrors that happen in life; and not because it has a monster. That takes me to my next point; I TOTALLY do NOT agree with this book being a middle grade book. I wouldn’t give this book to every kid, sure some may be okay reading it but I bet there’s a lot of kids that wouldn’t. It’s too powerful of a story, it’s extremely sad and I think what is most great about kids is their naiveness and positiveness and this book takes that away exposing the reality of life.

With this said, let’s start with the review guys!

For a book this short, this book sure has a lot of things to say! I would say my ultimate feeling about this book is just WOW. Yeah, that pretty much sums it up 😛

This book took me totally by surprise in the best way…. And for me this is for sure a 5 stars book. It as everything it needs and although it’s a painful sad story, it’s beautiful. Maybe this book affected me more because I can partially relate to Conor but still I think this book could put anyone crying rivers.

!WARNING: SPOILERS ahead!!

Ahhh how can I even begin to express my feelings after reading this book?? I was definitely so sooooo choked. That was NOT how I imagined it happening; that was NOT how it was suppose to happen and still, SINCE THE BEGINNING HE KNEW SHE WAS GOING TO DIE AND SO DID I BUT IT STILL FELT LIKE A BOMB… I cried cried cried…

This book teaches a lot about life in a certain creepy way. It’s a tale that draws on elements of classic horror stories to express loss… It shows Conor’s horrifying emotional ride as his mother’s inevitable death approaches.

The monster appears walking takin the form of a yew tree that has healing properties.

He says that he is going to tell Conor 3 tales and that he as to tell him his tale in the end. With them he teaches and prepares Conor to face is fears for him to be able to heal, and that’s what the forth tale is all about. These tales are simple and complex at the same time and have a huge moral to them.

But even tho the end is obvious you don’t want to believe it! You start being just like Conor… I was SO NOT prepared for this end! But now I am super excited in seeing how will the movie be in October!! >.<

This book is for sure the book that touched me most until today. And I would for sure recommend it to “EVERYBODY”, but remember that it is a powerful book, it breaks your heart and your soul in half and still you will love it immensely .

***I found it also funny that is published by WALKER books 😛 get it? LOL***
