July Wrap-up And August TBR

IMG_20160726_175048.jpg

Hey guys!! So, this month I read 4 books. Yes… I know… Isn’t holidays suppose to help to read more and not less? Yeah, that didn’t happen this month for sure! But August will be different I promise! 😛

Well at least I picked some books from my Summer reading list 😀 Which looks like this now:

  1. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
  2. Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins
  3. Isla and the Happily Ever After  by Stephanie Perkins (CR)
  4. Cress by Marissa Meyer  (still to buy)
  5. Winter by Marissa Meyer  (still to buy)
  6. The Storm by Virginia Bergin
  7. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
  8. Hollow City by Ransom Riggs
  9. Library of Souls by Ransom Riggs
  10. The One by Kiera Cass (just bought!!!)

Which means that this month I only read two book from my summer list:

  • Anna and the French Kiss
  • Lola and the Boy Next Door!

For the last two books, I read a Storm of Swords that was in my TBR for this month and The Girl on the Train that I needed to read before October anyway, because I SUPER MUCH WHANT TO SEE THE MOVIE! Who else??? 😀

17453983  62291  23664702  22247695

I think my favorite book for the month is probably either Anna and the French Kiss or The Girl on The Train, that I both loved incredibly much! And if you haven’t read them you totally tooootally should!!

– You can check my page: https://bookneeders.wordpress.com/my-2016-reads/ for more information about all the books I read through the year; and about the books themselves through the links to Goodreads!

I am putting the reviews gradually for the books I read through out the month, except for the GoT ones that I will do  a review of them all when I end the last two!

And of course after so much awaiting to buy The Allegiant version in PT to match my other books I finally did and I will read it this month!

❤ What books do you intend to read in August???

The Ultimate Game of Thrones Book Tag

Hi guys! I was tagged by Demi@Bookstraveller for this super fun Book Tag!! Thank you super much for choosing me Demi!! ❤ – You should totally check her out! Her blog is amazing and it takes not only about books but also movies!

So let’s just start by saying I LOVE GAME OF THRONES!

But that didn’t always happened… I took a looooong time saying I would never watch it, because I truly didn’t like what people talked about it, and if someone recommended it to me was like “You will love it! It as lots of sex and dragons” LOL oh well, that didn’t make me particularly interested… It actually made me not care, I didn’t even bother to try.

March of this year something changed, I ended the series I was seeing and my boyfriend liked GoT and I actually took the time explaining to me what it was about and made me give it a fair shot. So I did. And I didn’t like it super much right away because there is so many unfairness, so much blood and people dying and war and nudity. But the story line is so complex, so alive so full of mystery and so magnificent. I do like history so that kinda helped, the fact the it all seems so realistic also helped, and it really made me truly attached to some characters!

But not everybody has the same opinion like I didn’t before! And it’s actually pretty nice to see different perspectives of persons who don’t like and who like GoT and why because in the beginning I truly didn’t understand the hype or the story.

Also this tag is pretty cool because although it’s not only about GoT but it’s pretty easy for a person that doesn’t watch the show to participate!!  Check out  Demi’s post!!

RULES:

  1. Mention the creator Orang-utan Librarian.
  2. Answer all the questions.
  3. Tag people and keep it going!

Part 1 – Book Questions

“We do not sow”

A book you would not be willing to invest in.

we-do-not-sow

I’m not really sure I invested in any that I didn’t actually wanted or that at least I initially wanted unless it was some for school 😛 There was this one that I really didn’t liked and I had to buy it so I will go with that one! Os Maias (PT) / The Maias (EN) by Eça de Queirós. I just could’t read it, I couldn’t like it and I did like some of my books for school unfortunately this was totally not one of them.

1249630     1201981

“Fire and blood”

A book that produced strong emotions in you.

fire-and-blood

I am crying baby so it’s kinda easy, but a book that truly touched me was Marley and Me: Life and Love With the World’s Worst Dog by John Grogan. It’s just heart breaking beautiful!! And so is the movie!

12691.jpg

“Winter is coming”

Your favorite winter read.

winter-is-comingWell I normally don’t read books twice unless I need to catch up in a story that I literally can’t remember thing. Or unless it’s manga. But I really enjoy reading fantasy in the winter or Christmast-y books, but I think a book I would read again if I had time in winter among my fellow fatso tbr pile, would be Let it Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle.

16081588.jpg

“Family. Duty. Honour.”

A book about strong family ties.

family-duty-honour

I really enjoy books that include strong family ties or true friendship or love that is mainly not extremely cheesy 😛 But the book I most remember when it comes to family is Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. This book is beautiful and it also as a movie and I just love it so so much! I saw first the movie and only than I discovered the book. But it’s such a great story!

1934.jpg

“Growing strong”

A book you had low expectations of but that grew on you.

growing-strong

I have some but, I will once again talk about a book that I read in school that I don’t think many know of (unless you were born in Portugal :P). I loved to read  Memorial do Convento (PT) / Baltasar and Blimunda (EN). I really liked this book and I thought I totally wouldn’t because I normally don’t like historical fiction that much. But it’s a beautiful story!

23276772.jpg  2530.jpg

“Ours is the fury”

A book that made you furious.

ours-is-the-furyFury I don’t know but maybe the closest I have would be revolt/anger. Since I read mainly fantasy it’s easy to see so a lot of unfairness; people being bad just because… and it truly revolts me. So there are quite many of those, but I will go with the duology The Rain by Virginia Bergin. It as so much revolting scenes argh! I really wanted to kill some of them, how can it by that the ones with most power are always the ones looking more to themselves when they were supposed to be looking for the greater good?!

21116887.jpg    22753693.jpg

“Unbowed. Unbent.Unbroken.”

A book you have unwavering devotion to.

unbowed-unbent-unbroken

This is a difficult one. Can I chose maga in this one? 😛 Cuz I am capable of readig Fruits Basket always, or Dramacon or Toradora!! Or… Or… LOL They always make me super happy so I am quite attached to them.

271199.jpg  553678.jpg  9750705.jpg

“A Lannister always pays his debts”

A book you feel indebted to.

hear-me-roar

I would say Roald Dahl books, because they made me start reading when I was little and I loved them so so much!! So if it wasn’t for them maybe I would have taken a longer time to realize how much I like to read! Especially this three!

838892  109077.jpg  803273.jpg

Part 2 – Fan Theories

Who do you want to win the Game of Thrones?

It+s difficult to say… Daenerys or  Jon Snow. I really like them both! Well.. They are awesome!! Although I liked Jon Snow a bit more before, he lost a bit of spark lately… But with any of them I would be happy because I feel that they are more rational and overall good.

Article Lead - narrow999276108gixywdimage.related.articleLeadNarrow.353x0.gixydo.png1439462966162.jpg-300x0.jpg  14440.jpg

Who do you think will make it to the end and who do you think will die?

Hmm… I hope Cersei dies…. she just aghadhbfh!!! Well a lot of the others are already dead so… 😛 Like Ramsey and so on…

13.jpg

I would love to see obviously Daenerys  and Jon Snow alive, also The Hound, Aria and Tyrion!

imgres.jpg  images.jpg  arya-stark.png

Part 3 – My Game of Thrones

Would you win or die?

Well, I would give my best to survive obviously!! 😛 I would like to be kinda like Aria! She is so badass!

What house are you?

I took the test that you can find here. And my result was…

z4xDEQb9j1Cl.jpg

Which I am pretty happy about 😛

My Nominees

This book tag was awesome!!! But now we have to wait for more episodes boo-hoo!! And waiting for books… And keep buying funko pops 😛 Yeah, I love GoT!

Thak you super much again for the tag Demi!!

Library of Souls

Author: Ransom Riggs

Published by Quirk Books

Genres: Young Adult, Fiction, Fantasy, Mystery,  Time Travel, Historical Fiction, …

Pages: 458

Format: Paperback

Buy: Book Depository | Amazon

The adventures that began with Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and continued with Hollow City comes to a thrilling conclusion with Library of Souls.

As the story opens, sixteen-year-old Jacob discovers a powerful new ability, and soon he’s diving through history to rescue his peculiar companions from a heavily guarded fortress. Accompanying Jacob on his journey are Emma Bloom, a girl with fire at her fingertips, and Addison MacHenry, a dog with a nose for sniffing out lost children.

They’ll travel from modern-day London to the labyrinthine alleys of Devil’s Acre, the most wretched slum in all of Victorian England. It’s a place where the fate of peculiar children everywhere will be decided once and for all.

Like its predecessors, Library of Souls blends thrilling fantasy with never-before-published vintage photography.

captura-de-ecra-2016-10-19-as-22-16-45

OMG I LOVED IT!!! I love this series soooooo much!! And this last book was the perfect end to the Peculiar trilogy! But… I want more of this world, dang it! LOL It ties up all plot threads, adds more to the mythology of the Peculiar world, and gives us a stressful, nail-biting conclusion that had me on the edge of my seat.

The world is described so freaking awesomely and fully. It has lots of twists and details!

The souls explanation part, that was sad terrifying and revolting. They actually physically disturbed me. Seeing how this aspect of Peculiar life impacts everything else was eye-opening. It makes you see how a “different” person in any aspect is treated in the world, even now-a-days if you think a bout it.

I also loved all the depth we get to Peculiar history. We learn all the answers for how Hollows came about and get to see into the stronghold of them and the Wights. The actual body that is the title of the book, the Library of Souls, was a very intriguing idea.

(I also love how you can relate so much of the world we have to this book in a fantastic way. For example, how power can overcame you and turn you into a dumb-ass LOL)

The characters were just as vibrant as in the other books and to know more of them, was amazing! Getting to know a bit more of Jacob’s powers as they grew and expanded was especially interesting. His powers play a pivotal role in the book’s ending but not in a way that one would expect. I was very pleasantly surprised. I also loved getting to explore Emma’s and Alma’s pasts more as well.

I also enjoyed meeting some new faces who would play big roles in the overall story. Bentham and his gray view of the world kept me intrigued; I loved exploring the Peculiar conflict through his eyes, siding with whomever could give him the better deal. Sharon was also a fun addition. He was a very cool character. And very different from what I initially thought he would be.

The whole book was filled with intense action, constant chases, frantic escapes, and a final showdown that blew my mind. That end…

The Things I liked:

  • To know a whole new world again and again through loops, and especially this horrifying one.
  • The characters development was amazing, as were their peculiarities.
  • I loved how friendship and love take such a big role in this book.

FINAL WORDS

This book was amazing, and I am dying to dive in this story again!! In the second one we were introduced to the Tales of the Peculiar that will turn out to be a book and I am soon excited for it!!! ❤

Have you read this books?

What do you think about them?

HP: What House are you in?

Hogwarts-lake

Harry Potter has been a BIG part of many lives, including mine, so because of that I decided to do a post talking about Harry Potter and the four Houses, since I just recently found the test to do!!

Harry Potter was literally my childhood, I loved it, and I still do, and I will NEVER stop loving it! The books are amazing, the movies are amazing, the world is amazingly awesome and the characters are to die for. It’s just impossible to not love HP right?

So I always wanted to be everything when I was little, be in Gryffindor with Hermione, go catch nargles with Luna in Ravenclaw, be a bad ass Slytherin or be an honest and loyal Hufflepuff.

So just recently I finally found a test to see what house I belong to, just like the sorting hat and I got super excited!!

  • If you want to do the test click here to go to the Pottermore website or do a quiz here at buzzfeed. You can also do an account in the Pottermore website and see your house, wand and so on.

According to the test, I’m 50% Gryffindor …

gryffindor.gif
… and 50% Ravenclaw.

I’m not surprised I’m not Slytherin, but to be 50/50 of something, THAT I was totally not expecting, I can’t say I am not happy, because I love both, but It’s again difficult to chose in between one for me 😛 But I feel that I am a bit more Ravenclaw than Gryffindor maybe??

Anyway, I thought it might be fun to share with you all some fun facts about each of the four Houses of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Also you can check the HarryPotterWiki for more information about EVERYTHING you wanna know!!

These are the four houses for those who don’t know: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin.

Rowling created. And if you haven’t read the series yet, what are you waiting for?! Don’t be a Muggle!

Did you do the test?

To what house do you belong to? ❤

Hollow City

Author: Ransom Riggs

Publisher: Quirk Books

Pages: 396

Format: Paperback

September 3, 1940.

Ten peculiar children flee an army of deadly monsters.

And only one person can help them – but she’s trapped in the body of a bird.

The extraordinary journey that began in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children continues as Jacob Portman and his newfound friends journey to London, the peculiar capital of the world. There, they hope to find a cure for their beloved headmistress, Miss Peregrine. But in this war-torn city, hideous surprises lurk around every corner. And before Jacob can deliver the peculiar children to safety, he must make an important decision about his love for Emma Bloom.

Hollow City draws readers into a richly imagined world of telepathy and time loops, of sideshows and shapeshifters – a world populated with adult “peculiars”, murderous wights, and a bizarre menagerie of uncanny animals. Like its predecessor, this second novel in the Peculiar Children series blends thrilling fantasy with never-before-published vintage photography to create a one-of-a-kind reading experience.

captura-de-ecra-2016-10-19-as-22-16-45

The first book is amazing and I loved it but,…

This book in my opinion was even better than the first one guys! If you got disappointed with Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children because it was not horror but other than that you thought it was not a bad book? Give this one a try! IT’S SO GOOD! If you stopped in the first novel because of that, really try it again! This one is for sure creepier! FOR ME I LOVED THE FIRST ONE SUPER MUCH but this one is just such a good sequel ❤

Hollow City is a nightmare. In this one, you will NOT know what will happen next until it blows up in you face.

That said, it has definitely more action than the first one (although it started pretty slow) it had sooo many things happening afterwards that you can’t put the book down; I see the first book as an introduction to everything – the characters that we can actually see in the photos and the world that is so well described; but this one? I can’t even… So many emotions! So many things wrong with the world, so much unfairness, SO much happening.

We had the pleasure to meet the amazing peculiar children in the last novel, in this one we go with them all over the world to try to save Miss Peregrine. We meet a lot more peculiar children and we are introduced to a lot of new cool peculiarities.

There is a quest to bring the group’s ymbryne to Miss Wren, whose first name is

since she is the only ymbryne that is not captured, but it won’t be easy to find! ….

And that ending?? I NEED the third book NOW!

The Things I liked:

  • The journey through a war torn London was very well done, and I liked the irony of our kids making their way there on the train while so many other children were being evacuated out of the city. I think the decision to continue the story in 1940’s was awesome!
  • The introduction of a few more peculiars were welcomed, whether they be in the book only for a short time, or seemingly joining the group for the rest of their adventure. It’s always interesting to see what wacky peculiarities they have. The main character of Jacob also seemed like a new character, simply because as his peculiarity grow, he tends to be more confident, and less chicken than in the first book.
  • I won’t tell much about this part, but I appreciated that the wights had evolved a bit more to make them a more formidable presence in this entry.

The Things I didn’t like:

✘ Just like the first novel, some of the pictures used in this entry didn’t seem AS connected to the main story (unless they play a part in the next novel) as some of the others.

FINAL WORDS

Hollow City is DARKER and CREEPIER than book one. And it’s AWESOME!!

Pages: 352

Format: Paperback

A mysterious island.

An abandoned orphanage.

A strange collection of very curious photographs.

It all waits to be discovered in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, an unforgettable novel that mixes fiction and photography in a thrilling reading experience. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a deserted island for good reason. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.

A spine-tingling fantasy illustrated with haunting vintage photography, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children will delight adults, teens, and anyone who relishes an adventure in the shadows.

captura-de-ecra-2016-10-19-as-22-16-21

So this book is about a boy, Jason that is used to his grandfather telling him about these ‘Peculiar Children’ when he was little, but soon enough Jason grew up and stopped believing in it. Time had passed and a tragedy happens that puts Jason in a shock, and everyone thinks he is crazy now. New circumstances make him go to a remote island in Wales to discover his grandfather’s past. But is Jason crazy like everyone seems to think? Who are these peculiar children and why does his grandfather have photos of them? Are they even real? All of this causes trouble in Jason’s mind – will he be able to find the answers he wants?

captura-de-ecra-2016-10-19-as-22-16-45

When I first started reading Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children I had already a lot of hope for this book. I expected a hunting thriller, full of horror and danger (You can imagine why right guys? Starting in the cover and reading the synopsis and how dangerous the children might be…well). This book is NEITHER of those. (Also heads up for some violence in this book.)

Instead, this book is a fantasy/adventure combined with these very weird and old styled photographs, which made the book better than I ever thought it would be! Some photos are just to show and they are not so necessary for the book as others that the author really takes more time explaining, but because they are so interesting and so different (and sometimes even creepy) I really liked it! It’s just so…peculiar, right?

The Things I liked:

  • I love how the author describes everything, and I am not talking about the photos, even without them, I was able to visualize the locations and details of the world, and let me tell you, THAT was amazing!
  • As for the photographs, they added a whole new dimension to the story. You are almost able to see exactly what Jacob is seeing as he looks at the many photographs scattered throughout.
  • The book is truly addicting

The Things I didn’t like:

✘ Sometimes things needed a bit more development

✘ Some characters’ attitudes… (And I do like the characters in this book, just some choices I was not a fan of)

FINAL WORDS

As I said, this book was really addicting to me, and I really liked it (after I passed the phase of sigh, it’s not horror! But it only lasted for the first 50 pages) Afterwards I started loving the book! And for sure, I am looking forward to read the second novel! (well, after the cliff-hanger it’s difficult not to) 😛

I would say that if you haven’t read this book yet, give it a shot, but don’t expect horror! It’s mainly mystery/adventure and it really is awesome!

“I’ll tell you a weird thing about apocalypses – a thing I didn’t even know until I was in one: they seem pretty bad, don’t they? Well, take it from me: they can always get worse.”

Three months after the killer rain first fell, Ruby is beginning to realise her father might be dead . . . and that she cannot survive alone. When a chance encounter lands her back in the army camp, Ruby thinks she is safe – at a price. Being forced to live with Darius Spratt is bad enough, but if Ruby wants to stay she must keep her eyes – and her mouth – shut. It’s not going to happen. When she realizes what is going on – the army is trying to find a cure by experimenting on human subjects – Ruby flips out . . . and makes an even more shocking discovery: she’s not useless at all. The Storm begins . . .

Guys, this book was sooooooo much better than the first one!!! And it answers to a lot of the questions that you may have from the previous book! So I totally encourage you to GO GET IT if you liked The Rain! 😛

So, if you read my review on The Rain, you see that the only annoying thing is the main character’s lack of self-preservation and her sense of priorities, well that changed. Ruby, is now much more aware of the risk, she studied the clouds, and even other stuff that might help her, but of course she is still Ruby, and you will see that is the best part! She had to grow fast by herself to survive, but like everyone she has her down moments.

There is a lot of “scary” moments in this book, not just the fact that people die from the rain, no that’s not enough. People are different from each other. People think different, they want different things and like always, some have power some don’t! In my way of thinking the way the author describes the scenes it seems very believable in our world, and that’s what is most sad. That people often are not what they seem.

In this book you have the chance to know Ruby a lot more, and actually like her and care a lot about her! (I just couldn’t put this book down!)

This book makes you come up with a lot of feelings, like anger, fear, hope, hate and love.

The only thing I have to point out, is that I wasn’t much of a fan of the end, not because it was not good, but because it was a bit rushed, okay, a lot rushed! Maybe they should have done a third book…

Anyway, I loved this book, and you totally should give this books a try! Especially this one is amazing!

Heroes of Olympus – The Blood of Olympus

Though the Greek and Roman crewmembers of the Argo II have made progress in their many quests, they still seem no closer to defeating the earth mother, Gaea. Her giants have risen—all of them—and they’re stronger than ever. They must be stopped before the Feast of Spes, when Gaea plans to have two demigods sacrificed in Athens. She needs their blood—the blood of Olympus—in order to wake.

The demigods are having more frequent visions of a terrible battle at Camp Half-Blood. The Roman legion from Camp Jupiter, led by Octavian, is almost within striking distance. Though it is tempting to take the Athena Parthenos to Athens to use as a secret weapon, the friends know that the huge statue belongs back on Long Island, where it “might” be able to stop a war between the two camps.

The Athena Parthenos will go west; the Argo II will go east. The gods, still suffering from multiple personality disorder, are useless. How can a handful of young demigods hope to persevere against Gaea’s army of powerful giants? As dangerous as it is to head to Athens, they have no other option. They have sacrificed too much already. And if Gaea wakes, it is game over.

I didn’t love this books as much as much as the others, but I will have to give a 4.5stars because it’s the conclusion to a series a loved!

I felt that half of the book for me was quite boring till half, but then it turned super good! And the end was amazing!! And I also liked the glimpses to the next series 😛

This book was good. Just not was good as I was expecting beginning to end, like the others. It starts developing nicely in the middle of the book, and you have an overflow of feelings with this one! (obviously!) I loved the characters and how they developed, I loved to see more, especially from Nico, from Leo and from Reyna! Percy and Annabeth don’t appear as much in this one as in the last one.

I loved also to see some gods, especially Nike! It was a super funny moment!!

Overall I loved this series! I loved that characters, the action and especially the world! It’s amazing and I can’t wait to get in it again!!!

!WARNING: SPOILERS ahead!!

THE CENTRAL IDEA

The story starts with Jason, Piper and Annabeth covered by the mist in a party of monsters.. until they are detected and Jason gets stabbed… Yap, that was the beginning!!

After that, we see things from Reyna’s pov and ohmygoodness I SO MUCH LOVE Reyna. I loooved to know more about her, and I loved to see her with Nico! Anyway they went together with coach Hedge all around the world to return the Athena Parthenos to Camp Half-Blood and it was amazing how Rick Riordan put together all the fun obstacles and still we learned so much about the characters!

In the other side of the world was the other team trying to stop Gaia’s wakening. From them all the person I liked most to see about was Leo! He had such an amazing role, and he is always so funny and upbeat!

THE MAIN CHARACTERS

Percy

“Hey, I’m a Poseidon kid,” he said. “I can’t drown. And neither can my pancakes.”

Surprisingly he doesn’t appear as much as I was expecting! But when he does he kind of remembers me of Leo now. They are kinda similar in some ways 😀 LAso I loved to see the part where they actually thing about New Rome.

Annabeth

“Piper McLean,” [Annabeth] grumbled, “that was without a doubt the dumbest risk I’ve ever seen anyone take, and I date a dumb risk-taker.”

I liked to see Annabeth cooperating with Piper; normally Annabeth is ‘alone’ pondering what to do, but now she actully as a friend to share the dificult moments to.

Hazel

“Oh, no!” Hazel wailed. “Popcorn! Our fatal weakness!”

Hazel is so cool! I love her powers, Gods, I love her. She is the cutest simple girl ever and she is so perfect with Frank! I loved to see that they’re relationship althougth they are the ones that are most together in plans, they are nos cheesy and I also like how they trust Leo and that they are actually friends.

Frank

“Snake people do not drink milk” Kekrops said. “We are lactose-intolerant reptiles.”

“Me too!” Frank said. “I mean… lactose intolerant. Not a reptile. Though I can be a reptile sometimes -“

Frank grown-up in the last book, but he is still the cutsie little guy from the first one. And silly. But somehow he always , like once iguanaed his way out of trouble.

Piper

Never assume you’re safe, and never, ever tempt the Fates by announcing that you think you’re safe.

Piper appears a looot in this book, with Jason. I like her. A lot more than in the first book. She is more adult, more focused and more intelligent in battle also; she is so much stronger than she looks!

She is a good friend, expecially a girl friend, that I love! Also her power is pretty cool. I always laugh seeing her saying stuff to the monsters. But the snake song, that was cool!

Jason

Jason decided there was nothing in the world scarier than a gang of bat-wielding grannies.

Jason,… I leraned to like him a lot more. I see him now as a actual friend, not as a Percy replacement. And he looks very good with Piper!! I liked when he met is father was a super sweet (and fast) moment since he so long awaited.

Leo

“That stuff is going to kill you”

“You kidding? So many preservatives in these things, I’ll live forever. But, hey, about this victory goddess being popular (…)

Leo, I LOVE HIM. HE IS AMAZING! TRULY AMAZING! He is so fun, so relaxed, but actually always thinking and preparing everything in time. I loved is story, I loved that he found Calypso. And I loved to see Happy again, if you remember 😛

But my favorite moment was when he and Percy summoned Nike!! HAHAH was so cool!!

Nico

“Because nothing helps you make friends faster than a rotting corpse with a French accent.”

Nico is such an amazing character! That I was NOT expecting! But I love how he actually changes, how he starts to trust people, and how he finally tells his feelings. That was hilarious!! And how in the end finds someone to be with. AWWW ❤

And we see some WTF badass underworld powers!!! He is terrible powerful, scary powerful.

Reyna

“Glad you could join us!” (…)

Piper grinned. “We had some giants to kill!”

“Excellent!” Reyna returned the smile. “Help yourself to some barbarians.”

She is such a great person, such a great friend and a true leader! I LOOVED to know her, I just hoped I knew her better, sooner in the books. She is AMAZING!! A true example of an awesome person.

ALso I loved to see her background story and the meeting with the Amazons and the Hunters! GIRL POWER!! And how in the end she defeated Orion!!

PLOT DEVELOPMENT

This book was quite slow in the beginning but after middle it starts being pretty good! It gets a lot of action and you get to know a lot more of characters like Reyna, that you wished you knew sooner! The end is magnificent! I loved it!! I think it was the perfect end for sure!

SETTING

I liked how was not easy to carry the statue to Camp Half-Blood otherwise would be just wonder. And how difficult it was to reach Gaia. But to defeat her wasn’t it kinda easy? I mean how couldn’t she be counting on a strategy like that? But I loved it anyway!

THINGS I LIKED

  • I loved Reyna’s as Nico’s friendship
  • Some gods are just too funny! And well all around the book there is funny moments and I love that!!
  • Leo’s love life!! YEEEES ❤
  • That END. I LOVED IT!!!

THE THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE

✘ I felt that the beginning was a bit slow. I was expecting more since it was the last book.

✘ I still think that for a last battle seemed kinda easy to defeat Gaia.

✘ (I know now that the doors of death are closed it would be weird for Damasen and Bob to come out but I am still sad about it)

FINAL WORDS

I loved this series. It was amazing! Although it takes place after Percy Jackson’s  books, I felt that they are really different in terms of writing, wich I loved!.
